Our History
Established in 2008, Offbeat began offering creative screen printing in Oshkosh, Wisconsin within a small corner of an abandoned building on the East side of Oshkosh, in a building that was built as the original Oshkosh tram station. Located near the intersection of Lake Winnebago and the Fox River, Offbeat Press is on the East side of Oshkosh in a mostly residential neighborhood. Offbeat has since grown in each of our 4 years since our meager beginnings. In early 2012 Offbeat expanded, doubling our capacity, doubling our printing equipment and adding modern amenities such as a breakroom and a print shop with windows. In 2015, Offbeat Press expanded again, moving into a new print shop within the same building. We added new equipment including our first auto press, flash units and a apparel dryer. We now have 3 manual presses and 1 auto press.

Owner, Drew is a Wisconsin native and comes from a background in conceptual graphic design, with professional experience working at ad agencies and design firms, including 4 years working as a freelance designer. He evolved along the way and opening Offbeat Press in his late 20s. Drew began designing apparel graphics in college and started creating his own independent, Wisconsin clothing line -PROGRESS Label – shortly after college. As PROGRESS grew and Drew’s freelance work expanded, he was hired to design for bands, businesses, non-profits, and other clothing companies before opening the doors to Offbeat Press. Drew is the original majority-owner and sole investor, initially providing sweat-equity working shares to the other owners before growing beyond them. Offbeat Press. LLC is now owned and operated by Drew with lots of help the whole Offbeat staff.

Offbeat Press has evolved over the years as we’ve grown from a tiny manual print shop to a growing design + print shop. We continue to specialize in creativity, quality, and service. HYPE Visual is the design office at Offbeat Press.

With hard work and natural growth, Offbeat expanded in the spring of 2015, again moving our print shop, expanding into a larger area of the old tram station. With this expansion, Offbeat is re-connecting with our roots, doubling our print capabilities and limiting our environmental impact during our growth. Read more about our expansion under Sustainability + Responsibility.

Offbeat Press has a voluntary profit-sharing program in order to share the fruits of our collective labor. In addition to our profit-sharing program we offer employee bonuses, and a variety of unexpected perks including free massages, gift cards and employee lunches. However we don’t just give back to our employees, we give back to the community whenever possible.
